Hull Collaborative Academy Trust

Our Headteacher, Mrs Estelle Macdonald, is the proud CEO of the Academy Trust.

We are a family of Hull schools who collaborate and support each other to provide outstanding provision for the children and communities that we serve.

Hull Collaborative Academy Trust was formed from four high performing schools in Hull whose head teachers shared the same vision and values to provide the best possible education for children in Hull. It also intends to provide a local solution to sponsorship so schools in difficulty can access a local sponsor.

Our incredibly successful trust has grown since it formed in 2013. It is an accredited DfE sponsor and has been approached by many other schools asking to join.  The Trust is now made up of 15 primary schools and one secondary school.

HCAT has a strong and effective central team, including a team of School Improvement Partners who are all Ofsted trained and one of whom is a former HMI.  The collaboration across the trust and close links to Hull Collaborative Teaching School, Hull SCITT (School-Centred Initial Teacher Training) and Hull Centre for Restorative Practice help us grow from strength to strength.

HCAT's 4th Birthday

Saturday 1st July 2017 was the 4th birthday for the HCAT family. Following a week of celebrations in individual schools, all 13 schools in the Trust came together to build a HCAT jigsaw at St Stephens shopping centre. We collected affective statements, messages and quotes from our families and the wider community about HCAT, a community of schools that puts ‘children first’.

What do the jigsaw pieces mean?

Each jigsaw piece represents a special school community within Hull Collaborative Academy Trust. Every child in each school has contributed to the school jigsaw piece. Together, the jigsaw pieces represent a larger community of learners, HCAT!

Each jigsaw piece has been displayed in the school where it was made with the community contributions attached. This is a strong visual reminder to support all children to understand that, not only are they are part of their own special school community, they are also a part of the bigger HCAT community.

These are the HCAT cats. One lives at each HCAT school. Ours is called Collin G Wood!

Our families and the local community wrote affective statements and messages of support for the Trust. It was a very well attended event and a strong message of collaboration.

Children sang songs from their schools and of course we all joined in with the HCAT anthem “We are family”.
