Welcome to Ajax

Our year six teachers are Miss Cartwright and Miss Johnson. Miss Cartwright is Ajax's class teacher and Miss Johnson is Swiftsure's class teacher. Mr Stewart, Ms Moffatt, Mrs Baxter will also be working with year 6 this year. The children in year 6 are taught in mixed class groups for some subjects.

Currently we are working very hard to become the best class role models we can be whilst fulfilling our roles as ambassadors for the school. We have had lots of discussions about this in our circles.

At this moment in time, we are focussing on preparing to show off everything we have learned in primary school in our SATs test later this year (May). This includes working on our resilience, independence and responsibility for our work and ourselves.

We need to make sure we are getting plenty of sleep and eating healthily in order to show off everything we have learned.

Our author this year is John Boyne and we are currently reading The Boy in the Striped Pyjamas, which links to our topic on slavery. We will be using this book to discuss issues around friendship, fairness, equality, leadership and the impact our actions have on others.

We need to know all the muliplication and division facts up to 12 x 12.

As it is our final year in primary school, we are trying really hard to develop our sense of responsibility in taking care of ourselves - please make sure you support us in being responsible for ensuring that we bring our PE kits, any other items we may need for the day and homework on a Monday.

We need our PE kit on a Monday.
