Learning about sharing and halving
The children in the Phoebe class have been learning about sharing whole objects between two people.
Linking our learning with the curriculum
We used language such as, 'sharing', 'halving', 'equal' and 'fair' when explaining what we had done.
This shows they are working withing the Early Learning Goal for mathematics which states, 'children solve problems including halving and sharing.'
Forming positive relationships
The children were extremely sensible with the resources and took it in turns to halve their whole objects. This shows they are building positive relationships with peers are children are able to, 'work as part of a group and follow the rules, play co-operatively and take turns with others' which are the expectations for children within Personal, Social and Emotional development aspect of the curriculum.
